Description: Join us for an Arabian Gulf Roundtable featuring Nancy Charles-Parker, Commercial Counselor at the American Embassy in Kuwait. The economies of many Gulf countries are transforming, offering tremendous opportunities for U.S. businesses with the right products, services, and connections. There is great diversity in terms of market size, commercial opportunities, and standards and regulations for doing business. While Persian Gulf economies are dominated by the oil industry, there is tremendous potential for diversification. Although doing business in the Middle East presents unique challenges, many U.S. companies have found significant demand for their goods and services in the region.

About the Speaker: Nancy Charles-Parker assumed responsibility as the Counselor for Commercial Affairs in Kuwait on July 1, 2007.   She has previously served  in San Salvador and prior to working in Central America, she was the first woman to be named Counselor for Commercial Affairs in Saudi Arabia, where she led three offices and 30 staff in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran.   Ms. Charles-Parker’s first Gulf assignment was as Commercial Counselor at the U.S Embassy in Abu Dhabi between 2000-2004.  During this time she and her Commercial team in Abu Dhabi and Dubai facilitated $6.5 billion in export sales to the UAE. From 1997 until 2000 she was director of the Rocky Mountain U.S Export Assistance Center in Denver.
