World Trade Day 2014

Imagine an international trade and investment conference with over 400 participants from across the globe discussing the most effective ways to mitigate risk while growing your markets. This, all set in the most conducive venue for networking, is the 41st Annual World Trade Day hosted by the Rocky Mountain World Trade Center Institute. This year’s theme, “Risky Business: Risk & Reward Across Borders,” will include discussions on different areas of risk common in today’s international business world. With a different theme every year, World Trade Day has become the Rocky Mountain Region’s most successful and exciting focal point for the international business community. Attendees gather to learn and discuss the most interesting and pressing issues facing global business today. This year, World Trade Day will take place May 6th and 7th, preceding World Trade Week, which President Franklin Delano Roosevelt decreed in 1935.

World Trade Day’s opening dinner will showcase a simulated international business risk experience for our guests, facilitating tangible learning about the importance of risk mitigation. Keynote Gary Noesner, former FBI hostage negotiator, Author of Stalling for Time, will share anecdotes from his career, managing risk in some of the most challenging situations.

The 41st Annual World Trade Day Conference will focus on several types of risk, including traditional political, economic, and logistical risks, as well as new financial and technological challenges in international business. We will bring together experts to share their experiences identifying and tackling specific risks endemic to certain businesses in a half-day conference. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. During the lunch presentation, the Governor's Awards for Excellence in Exporting will be awarded to the winning Colorado companies.
