World Trade Center Denver is a business network and services organization dedicated exclusively to the international business success of companies based in Colorado and the surrounding Rocky Mountain region.
No need to call New York or fly to Chicago, you get face-to-face access to world-class global resources right here in your own backyard. Our sole purpose is to help local companies succeed internationally. Global commerce isn’t just one of the things we do, it’s the only thing we do.

With one million members and over 300 trade centers in 100 countries, this is a network that opens doors around the world. Karen Gerwitz – President & CEO
Karen Gerwitz brings 30 years’ experience in international business to the organization in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Her enthusiastic vision for how Denver can become a more globally-conscious city is what is driving the organization to its new development in the RiNo neighborhood near downtown. With business development, strategic growth and marketing as her main functional expertise, Karen has served overseas in Ghana and Austria, and in Colorado in multiple sectors including: IT, Aerospace, Lumber, Science, Mining, and Government. Her protocol and international cultural expertise prepared her well to host the official visits of the Emperor and Empress of Japan, the G8 Summit, the Western Hemisphere Ministerial Summit, and hundreds of other delegations. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business and her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado.

Sandi Moilanen – V.P. Operations
Sandi Moilanen is the Vice President of Operations at the World Trade Center Denver, where she oversees the daily operations and programs of the organization, helps develop and implement strategic initiatives and looks for new areas of growth. Sandi brings experience in international business development, manufacturing and international trade finance to the position. Prior to joining the WTC, Sandi was the Director of the Colorado International Trade Office, part of the State of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development, where she managed the export promotion and foreign investment attraction activities for the State of Colorado. Before her public sector service, Sandi managed international transactions and overseas production planning for an apparel manufacturer. She helped develop European distribution and managed a network of international dealers. She has experience as a Customs Broker and an international logistics agent.

Karen Moore – Manager of Marketing & Engagement
Karen Moore joined the World Trade Center Denver team in 2020. As the Manager of Marketing & Member Engagement, Karen is responsible for marketing, advertising and communication to strategic partnerships, and member management and engagement. She brings her strong background in marketing and business development to the team. Karen has always had a passion for international business and worked overseas for a short time in Paris. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing with a focus on International Business from the University of Colorado.

Marisela Parraguez – Project Manager, Global Trade Activator Program Supporting Immigrant and Refugee Entrepreneurs
Marisela is the Project Manager for our Global Trade Activator Program that supports immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs. She has 16 years of experience developing and managing projects with high economic and social impact, including experience managing a portfolio of projects/grants for and with Latin American and Caribbean countries. Prior to joining WTC Denver, Marisela worked over 9 years for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, working on competitiveness, technology and innovation projects with the public, private, and academic sectors in those countries. Previously, she was part of the team who developed the High-Technology Foreign Investment Promotion Program, the first program ever in Chile designed specifically for investment attraction, and promoted Chile to companies looking to outsource back-office and call center operations abroad.
Marisela is native of Chile and she holds a Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland and an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. She is Fluent in Spanish and English.
Jamison Shelton – Global Business Services Program Manager
Jamison is responsible for overseeing the Global Business Services division at the World Trade Center Denver, providing global import, export and market entry consulting solutions for companies throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Jamison comes to the World Trade Center Denver with over 20 years of experience in the international ecommerce, business development, operations and on-demand manufacturing space, with a professional portfolio that includes Broadcast.com, Yahoo!, VarTec Telecom, Webroot Software, Circle Graphics and CafePress. Jamison has also run a successful consulting practice, helping early-stage companies with their international expansion efforts. Jamison has his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Managerial Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Oklahoma.

Tanya Arnt – Education Coordinator
Tanya Arnt joined the World Trade Center Denver team in 2020. As the Education Program Coordinator and Project Manager, Tanya is responsible for administering and modernizing education programs at World Trade Center Denver. She is in charge of transferring and converting in-person training to online/virtual, she works with subject matter experts and always on the lookout to adding new and exciting training sessions. She guides students through getting the most of their Certificate of International Trade. She is also a project manager for the two largest conferences – World Trade Day and International Business & U.
Tanya is very passionate about International Business and working globally. Prior to coming to WTC, Tanya managed global conferences and trainings for software as a service companies and nonprofits. And also, she spent five years in China where she worked as an Educator.
Originally from Russia, she holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and working on her MBA with major in International Business at University of Colorado Denver. Multilingual Russian, English, and Chinese speaker with Spanish competency. She has lived in Siberia, China, Ecuador and US.
Catherine Ceresa – Director of Business Development
Shortly after completing degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Linguistics at Duke University, Catherine began her humanitarian pursuits as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Thailand. Following her Peace Corps service, she earned two post-graduate degrees from the University of Denver: a Masters Degree in Macro Economic Sustainable Development (Korbel School) and an International Masters of Business Administration (Daniels School) focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2014, Catherine joined a start-up in California that catered to major electronics manufacturers, where she offered sustainable supply chain solutions to major multi-national corporations. In 2016, she joined Amazon.com as a Risk Manager for the World Wide Sustainability team, where she built their first global Conflict Minerals Program and eWaste Management Program. At Amazon, she co-founded the Circular Economy Team and developed products for Supply Chain Transparency that are currently purchased and implemented by hundreds of major retail brands worldwide. Colorado beckoned her back in 2019, where she joined the WTCD team in 2020, as the Director of Business Development. She is currently helping Rocky Mountain Region companies navigate the challenges of International trade with premium Global Trade Solutions.
