World Trade Center Denver is a business network and services organization dedicated exclusively to the international business success of companies based in Colorado and the surrounding Rocky Mountain region.
No need to call New York or fly to Chicago, you get face-to-face access to world-class global resources right here in your own backyard. Our sole purpose is to help local companies succeed internationally. Global commerce isn’t just one of the things we do, it’s the only thing we do.

With one million members and over 300 trade centers in 100 countries, this is a network that opens doors around the world. Karen Gerwitz – President & CEO
Karen Gerwitz brings 30 years’ experience in international business to the organization in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Her enthusiastic vision for how Denver can become a more globally-conscious city is what is driving the organization to its new development in the Fox Park neighborhood near downtown. With business development, strategic growth and marketing as her main functional expertise, Karen has served overseas in Ghana and Austria, and in Colorado in multiple sectors including: IT, Aerospace, Lumber, Science, Mining, and Government. Her protocol and international cultural expertise prepared her well to host the official visits of the Emperor and Empress of Japan, the G8 Summit, the Western Hemisphere Ministerial Summit, and hundreds of other delegations. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business and her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado.

Sandi Moilanen – V.P. Operations
Sandi Moilanen is the Vice President of Operations at the World Trade Center Denver, where she oversees the daily operations and programs of the organization, helps develop and implement strategic initiatives and looks for new areas of growth. Sandi brings experience in international business development, manufacturing and international trade finance to the position. Prior to joining the WTC, Sandi was the Director of the Colorado International Trade Office, part of the State of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development, where she managed the export promotion and foreign investment attraction activities for the State of Colorado. Before her public sector service, Sandi managed international transactions and overseas production planning for an apparel manufacturer. She helped develop European distribution and managed a network of international dealers. She has experience as a Customs Broker and an international logistics agent.

Karen Moore – Director of Marketing & Member Engagement
Karen Moore joined the World Trade Center Denver team in 2020. As the Manager of Marketing & Member Engagement, Karen is responsible for marketing, advertising and communication to strategic partnerships, and member management and engagement. She brings her strong background in marketing and business development to the team. Karen has always had a passion for international business and worked overseas for a short time in Paris. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing with a focus on International Business from the University of Colorado.

Tanya Arnt – Director, Trade Institute
Tanya Arnt joined the World Trade Center Denver team in 2020. As the Education Program Coordinator and Project Manager, Tanya is responsible for administering and modernizing education programs at World Trade Center Denver. She is in charge of transferring and converting in-person training to online/virtual, she works with subject matter experts and always on the lookout to adding new and exciting training sessions. She guides students through getting the most of their Certificate of International Trade. She is also a project manager for the two largest conferences – World Trade Day and International Business & U.
Tanya is very passionate about International Business and working globally. Prior to coming to WTC, Tanya managed global conferences and trainings for software as a service companies and nonprofits. And also, she spent five years in China where she worked as an Educator.
Originally from Russia, she holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and working on her MBA with major in International Business at University of Colorado Denver. Multilingual Russian, English, and Chinese speaker with Spanish competency. She has lived in Siberia, China, Ecuador and US.

Jamison Shelton – Program Director, Global Trade Activator
Jamison comes to the World Trade Center Denver with over 20 years of experience in the international ecommerce, business development, operations and on-demand manufacturing space, with a professional portfolio that includes Broadcast.com, Yahoo!, VarTec Telecom, Webroot Software, Circle Graphics and CafePress. Jamison has also run a successful consulting practice, helping early-stage companies with their international expansion efforts. Jamison has his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Managerial Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Oklahoma.

Amar Alimaa – Program Manager for Immigrant Program, Global Trade Activator
Amar was born in Mongolia, raised in Poland, Ukraine, and Japan. She is experienced in developing international business from scratch in Ukraine, Poland, Mongolia, Japan, and the United States. Multilingual: Japanese, Russian, Polish, Mongolian, and English.
She has earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her role in WTC is to support immigrants to build their international business plan, strategic marketing plan, and obtain financial loans. Amar is passionate about improving the life standard around the world through international business.

Javion Blake – Global Business Support Manager, Immigrant Program, Global Trade Activator
Javion ‘Jay’ Blake is an entrepreneur, a design engineer, and humanitarian seeking to make the world more abundant for all.
Javion migrated from Jamaica to the United States to pursue a tertiary level education in engineering after transferring from the University of Technology, Jamaica. He is the proud holder of a Master of Science (MSc.) in Industrial and Management Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace from Montana State University, Bozeman. He founded Jus Chill, bringing Breadfruit to over 45 states in the U.S. He has most recently worked in the medical device industry designing diagnostics devices used in the fights against COVID19 pandemic.
As Global Business Support Manager in the Global Trade Activator Immigrant and Refugee Program, he brings experience in International Trade to assist participants to develop successful trading ventures that will build generational wealth and achieve the American Dream. He served as a strategic advisor on the Advisory Board of the World Trade Center Denver prior to deciding to join staff.
Eliana Becnel – Director of Network Growth
Eliana Becnel joined the WTC Denver team this January to focus on growing our international network and opportunities within our global network. Originally from New Orleans, LA, Becnel relocated to Denver in the midst of the pandemic where she focused on understanding the local economic landscape, and how Colorado grows and protects its own economy.
With a background in economic development, destination and luxury lifestyle – sales, Becnel’s approach is grounded in strategic partnerships with symbiotic objectives designed to facilitate organic growth and expansion. A graduate from Louisiana State University, Becnel has traveled extensively domestically and internationally her entire life, and believes that all successful collaborations are inclusive of business and culture – after all, isn’t culture the why behind what we do? Or perhaps the how?
