This class will deal with the very first step in international business: finding quality customers overseas who want to buy your product. Lists from consultants and attending trade shows may not get the job done. Long term export success relies on pairing your company with the right distributors, and driving those distributors in an effective way. We will talk about how to find the best distributors, how to convince them to buy your product, and how to manage them in a way that gets their priority and focus on your brand.
Also discussed will be critical aspects of international pricing. A high percentage of small US exporters fail because of bad international pricing decisions. We will examine ways to avoid common pitfalls, and price your products in a way that sets them up for success in the global marketplace.
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
This training counts 4 hours toward a Certificate in International Trade.
