World Trade Center Denver is a business network and services organization dedicated exclusively to the international business success of companies based in Colorado and the surrounding Rocky Mountain region.
No need to call New York or fly to Chicago, you get face-to-face access to world-class global resources right here in your own backyard. Our sole purpose is to help local companies succeed internationally. Global commerce isn’t just one of the things we do, it’s the only thing we do.

With one million members and over 300 trade centers in 100 countries, this is a network that opens doors around the world. Karen Gerwitz – President & CEO
Karen Gerwitz brings 30 years’ experience in international business to the organization in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Her enthusiastic vision for how Denver can become a more globally-conscious city is what is driving the organization to its new development in the RiNo neighborhood near downtown. With business development, strategic growth and marketing as her main functional expertise, Karen has served overseas in Ghana and Austria, and in Colorado in multiple sectors including: IT, Aerospace, Lumber, Science, Mining, and Government. Her protocol and international cultural expertise prepared her well to host the official visits of the Emperor and Empress of Japan, the G8 Summit, the Western Hemisphere Ministerial Summit, and hundreds of other delegations. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business and her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado.

Sandi Moilanen – V.P. Operations
Sandi Moilanen is the Vice President of Operations at the World Trade Center Denver, where she oversees the daily operations and programs of the organization, helps develop and implement strategic initiatives and looks for new areas of growth. Sandi brings experience in international business development, manufacturing and international trade finance to the position. Prior to joining the WTC, Sandi was the Director of the Colorado International Trade Office, part of the State of Colorado’s Office of Economic Development, where she managed the export promotion and foreign investment attraction activities for the State of Colorado. Before her public sector service, Sandi managed international transactions and overseas production planning for an apparel manufacturer. She helped develop European distribution and managed a network of international dealers. She has experience as a Customs Broker and an international logistics agent.

Adriana Radinovic – Manager of Marketing & Engagement
Adriana joined the World Trade Center Denver team in 2019. As the Manager of Marketing & Member Engagement, her duties span from marketing, advertising and communication to strategic partner and member management and engagement. Adriana’s life has been nothing short of multicultural. She was born in Croatia, raised in Serbia, educated in Los Angeles and now living in Denver. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Business – Marketing and has worked in politics and the startup, financial and CPG industries. Her passion for economic development and love for Colorado led her to World Trade Center, where her passions and interests perfectly align. She spends her free time reading and writing, traveling and exploring local coffee shops.

Marisela Parraguez – Project Manager, Global Trade Activator Program Supporting Immigrant and Refugee Entrepreneurs
Marisela is the Project Manager for our Global Trade Activator Program that supports immigrant and refugee entrepreneurs. She has 16 years of experience developing and managing projects with high economic and social impact, including experience managing a portfolio of projects/grants for and with Latin American and Caribbean countries. Prior to joining WTC Denver, Marisela worked over 9 years for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, working on competitiveness, technology and innovation projects with the public, private, and academic sectors in those countries. Previously, she was part of the team who developed the High-Technology Foreign Investment Promotion Program, the first program ever in Chile designed specifically for investment attraction, and promoted Chile to companies looking to outsource back-office and call center operations abroad.
Marisela is native of Chile and she holds a Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland and an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering. She is Fluent in Spanish and English.
Katie Pagano – Instructional Designer and Executive Assistant
Katie joined the World Trade Center Denver team in October 2018 after spending 10 years in secondary education. She graduated from the University of Missouri, St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science in Education and obtained her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. Katie has a passion for adult learning and operations, and she was known for her innovative flipped classroom during her teaching and graduate studies. In her role, she helps administer and modernize the educational programs and manages the core functions of the office providing support to the executive team.

Martín Vieiro – Global Business Services Program Manager
Martín co-manages the World Trade Denver Center’s Global Business Services. The Global Business Services (GBS) team provides documents services, a HelpDesk, and consulting services to wide range of local companies engaging in international trade! Each year, GBS’s document services help support over 5 million in Coloradoan exports in industries ranging from natural foods to additive manufacturing to over 50 international markets. GBS’s HelpDesk and consulting services provide world-class customized guidance, training and solutions to Colorado’s smallest and largest companies on their most pressing and difficult international business challenges. Recent GBS projects range from advising an outdoor industry company on their European expansion to a project managing the development of compliance program for a space company.
Martín began his career at EY’s Global Trade team as a Staff Consultant. He was a Research Analyst at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and the Economist Intelligence Unit. Martín has a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of North Texas, and a master’s degree from the University of California, San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing and exploring the Front Range.
